The 2025 investment year has been positive so far – including for the Vita Collective Foundation. The net performance since the beginning of the year is 5.8 percent, while the cover ratio has improved compared to the previous year and is at an indicative 115 percent as at the end of October 2025. The fluctuation reserves are thus fully built up – a solid basis for the interest rate decision. For 2026, an interest rate of up to 4 percent has been granted – well above the statutory minimum interest rate of 1.25 percent. The interest rate on retirement assets will be announced in advance one last time this year.
Foundation board adjusts interest rate policy
Back in spring 2025, the foundation board already set an initial example and decided to pay an extraordinary additional interest rate of 1 percent for the current year – retirement assets will therefore accrue an average interest of 3.25 percent. The long-term goal for the future is an interest rate of around 3 percent per year in the long term, always with a view to achieving a balance between an attractive interest rate and the financial stability of the foundation.
From 2027: Retrospective determination of the interest rate – better comparability
From 2027, the interest rate will no longer be announced in advance but will be decided upon at the end of each year. New customers thus benefit as of
January 1, 2027, from the full additional interest rate, starting from the day they join.
