What happens to my vested benefits during a period of unemployment?

If you do not start a new job after leaving a pension fund, you can leave your vested benefits with the previous pension fund for a maximum of six months. If you are still not insured with a pension fund after this period, we will transfer your retirement provision balance to a vested benefits account at an institution of your choice. Please note that if you become unemployed, you are responsible for opening a vested benefits account and arranging the transfer yourself.
