Can I have my vested termination benefit transferred to an account at a foreign bank?

Yes, the vested termination benefit can be paid out to an account at a foreign bank. The only conditions are that the bank accepts payments in Swiss francs and that the account is in your name.

Please note that two types of taxes are due in the event of payment into a foreign account. Tax at source is charged in Switzerland, while capital withdrawal taxes accrue at your new place of residence. Depending on the country you are moving to and tax treaties, it may be possible to reclaim the Swiss taxes at source. Whether payment into a Swiss or a foreign account makes more sense should therefore be discussed in advance with a tax expert.
