I have a part-time job. How high are the insured benefits?

The amount of the insured benefits is set out in the pension regulations or in your employer's retirement provision strategy. You will also find this information in your annual pension certificate. The higher your insured salary, the higher your benefits will be.

As a rule, the insured salary for part-time employees is rather low, as the coordination deduction for all employees is CHF 26,460. This means that with an annual salary of CHF 40,000, the insured salary with the pension fund is only CHF 14,905. However, your employer can adjust the coordination deduction to the job percentage. This increases the insured salary – and leads to higher benefits in the event of disability. We advise employees with part-time positions to clarify this possibility with their employer.
