Do contributions still have to be paid for employees in military or civilian service?

Employees are insured under the occupational retirement provision during military or civilian service; both the employer and employee therefore pay full contributions during this time. As an employer, you receive compensation from the OASI compensation fund in accordance with the Loss of Earnings Compensation Act (EOG), which amounts to a maximum of 80% of the average income.

As an employer you need to apply for compensation from the responsible AHV compensation office. You can find the relevant form on the website of the AHV/IV information office.
